Job Description
We are seeking a talented and experienced Lead Data Scientist to join our dynamic team. As the Lead Data Scientist, you will play a critical role in growing our business, optimizing our supply chain management, our closed-loop logistics model and building and refining the Goodness Index™, our proprietary scoring system. You will leverage your expertise in data science and machine learning to develop innovative algorithms, analyze complex datasets, and generate actionable insights. Your contributions will drive the integrity and accuracy of our scoring system and the quality of our recommendation and automation engine, making a healthy and sustainable living a breeze.
Responsibilities
Develop and Refine the Goodness Index™
Lead the development and refinement of the Goodness Index™, our data-driven scoring system. Design and implement advanced algorithms and models that accurately assess the sustainability and impact of products and suppliers. Continuously refine the scoring methodology based on real-world data and feedback from stakeholders.
Data Analysis and Modeling
Conduct exploratory data analysis and modeling using large and complex datasets. Apply statistical techniques and machine learning algorithms to uncover patterns, identify trends, and generate insights related to sustainability, product impact, and supplier performance. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate insights into actionable recommendations.
Data Collection and Integration
Collaborate with internal teams to define data requirements, establish data collection processes, and ensure data integrity. Identify and acquire relevant external datasets to enhance the accuracy and robustness of the Goodness Index™. Develop data pipelines and frameworks to efficiently process and integrate data from multiple sources.
Predictive Analytics and Automation
Utilize data science techniques to predict user preferences and automate the recommendation of daily goods to our users. Develop models and algorithms that personalize the user experience, taking into account factors such as sustainability, health, and individual preferences. Continuously optimize and improve recommendation algorithms based on user feedback and performance metrics.
Operational Optimization
Identify opportunities for operational optimization related to procurement, inventory management, closed-loop logistics, and order fulfillment. Utilize data science techniques to optimize supply chain processes, minimize waste, reduce costs, and enhance overall operational efficiency. Collaborate with the operations team to implement data-driven solutions.
Model Deployment and Monitoring
Implement models and algorithms into production environments, working closely with the engineering team. Develop monitoring systems to track model performance, identify anomalies, and ensure the ongoing reliability of the Goodness Index™. Continuously evaluate and enhance model performance and accuracy.
Collaborative Research
Stay abreast of the latest advancements in data science, sustainability, and related fields. Collaborate with external partners, academia, and industry experts to conduct research and contribute to the broader scientific community. Publish findings in relevant journals or present at conferences, showcasing Sunrise's expertise and thought leadership.
Cross-functional Collaboration
Collaborate closely with product management, engineering, and other teams to integrate the Goodness Index™ seamlessly into the Sunrise platform. Provide data-driven insights and recommendations to support product development, marketing strategies, and customer engagement initiatives.
