The Role
As our first employee, the Operations Associate will have the opportunity to help build a high-profile startup from the ground up. Our team is moving fast and we’re looking for mission-driven talent with a bias for action and a drive to accelerate change. We’d prefer a creative, autonomous, and growth-minded builder that is willing to bring all they've got to disrupt and rebuild the very broken food industry with us. This is an “all hands on deck” lean team, and we’re looking for a hungry and driven individual who is willing to dedicate themselves to our mission.
Tactically, this role will work directly alongside the COO to support operations at Sunrise. Initially, this will include supporting category & inventory management, communicating with customers and suppliers, and delivering orders on our cargo e-bike. The Operations Associate will be the face of Sunrise to our customers and will play a key role in delivering our mission to build the future of food.
There is a potential for equity in Sunrise if it is a strong fit, and a huge opportunity for transition into an operations management role. We would prefer a candidate who is passionate about our mission and wants to stick with us for the long-term.
Immediate Responsibilities
- Pick and pack customer orders
- Deliver orders to customers on our cargo e-bike
- Assist with inventory management and restocking
- Ensure highest level of customer service
- Represent Sunrise Daily Goods positively to our customers and suppliers
- Help develop and implement processes to improve operations
- Support other areas of the business as needed
- Help build Sunrise from the ground up
Minimum Qualifications
- Located in Amsterdam
- Comfortable riding a cargo e-bike
- Fluency in English is required (fluency in Dutch preferred but not required)
- Authorized to work in the Netherlands (no visa or work authorization required)
- Positive attitude and team player
- Highly flexible and adaptable to change
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in operations, category management, or customer service
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a related field
- Demonstrated passion for food, health, and sustainability
- Experience with spreadsheet/database programs (Excel, Airtable, Google Sheets) and familiarity using team collaboration software (Slack, Notion, Asana, Height, etc.)
- Entrepreneurial mindset and desire to grow into an operations management role with Sunrise
